america you deserve it!

once again the democrats have sold out and helped pass the energy bill in congress. it's a disaster. billions and billions to oil companies and millionairs / billionairs - the shaft up the ass for the environment and regular folks... it's maddening when you have grown up to hold reason and intelligence as the 'high principles' and you live in a society that has no use whatsover for either.

you think "well, i have reason on my side. not only are they screwing up the planet but 95%+ of the population of this country gets fucked too, so all i have to do is use my intelligence to reason with people that it doesn't make sense to vote for folks who will screw them and everybody else. but not here! reason must be one of those new-finagled liberal things you can't trust...

it's because (and yes, i reiterate from earlier posts) people are all so FUCKING DUMB! america, you deserve it! somebody should build a big wall around us so we can't fuck up the rest of the world.

and in the spirit of today's news, here is today's installment of:

FUCK YOU!

the democratic party. for being a bunch of spine-less, opportunistic cocksuckers who sell out to corporate america just like the republicans.

FUCK YEAH!

ralph nader. hero. probably saved more lives in his lifetime than all members of congress combined. much too intelligent to ever be elected to anything in a country that voted for arnold.

dr-cafta passed

early this morning the house passed the dominican republic & central american free trade agreement, better known as CAFTA making this another very sad day in world history. 15 democrats broke ranks and voted for it too, adding insult to injury. i guess the public doesn't care much for world-changing political events, since i had to dig three layers deep on cnn.com to find it, whereas 'billboard's hottest summer songs' made the front page.

here is a primer for those of you not too familiar about CAFTA, taken from oxfam's stephanie weinberg's comments at a press-confrence.

...The regional trade agreement will require these developing countries to open their markets to dumping of US rice and other commodities and forbid use of adequate safeguards to ensure food and livelihood security and rural development. The agreement also blatantly ignores the fact that US farmers receive extensive subsidies and domestic supports, estimated to be around $24 billion this year alone. DR-CAFTA imposes strict new rules that extend the monopoly held by brand-name pharmaceuticals, which will limit generic competition and reduce access to affordable medicines in the future. The trade agreement also provides special rights and privileges to foreign investors that can create major new liabilities to governments and undermine efforts to protect public health, the environment, and workplace safety...

and now for toaday's installment of:

back in space

watched the space-shuttle take off this morning. i think i was almost as excited and scared as the guys and gals inside. sure was beautiful to watch. and i think it's important we go back into space. broaden the horizons, do some science. in this society the going theme seems to be: "who needs science if you have jesus?" anyway it was great to watch and i hope they're having a great time up there and get back safely...

FUCK YOU!

more lovely headlines

so today, london police shot a guy dead in the subway because he was scared of them and wouldn't stop. he wasn't armed, he didn't even have a bag. but here's the kicker: he supposedly wore a baggy jacket and who knows, there could have been a bomb in there. so now the standard for killing people is their dress-code. maybe we should all wear the same dress to avoid confusion. come to think of it, two guys named mao and adolf already tried that...

in new york the stormtroppers are now 'randomly' searching subway riders' bags. supposedly they search every 5th person's bag. i'd love to see what happens when #4 is an arabic looking guy with a long beard and #5 is a white man with a crew cut. remind me, what did timothy mcveigh look like again? hmm...

in other news, you should check out jehan's diary. it may turn out to be interesting.

i have decided to expand my fuck you! section and add a fuck yeah! section too.

FUCK YOU!

riley p. bechtel. ceo of the word's most evil corporation: bechtel. instrumental in getting billions of dollars in contracts from world bank loans, etc to countries who never see the money and then become our bitch!

FUCK YEAH!

hugo chavez. president of venezuela and general hero of poor and oppressed people. i give him 2 years max until the cia assasinates him (of course it'll be an unfortunate accident. they love plane crashes...)

breaking news. 2nd london bombing

so..... just read cnn's latest masterpiece. the four separate bombs today all somehow failed to go off. sure they did. four separate bombs, four separate people, all happened to fail... uh huh.... i smell a large rodent here. mabe jesus made them fail, or allah or santa claus. or was it tony or george? hmmmmm.....

my NEW feature!

not much news today. looks like some copycat morons tried to set of some amateur explosives in london. or was it done by someone else to inspire more fear in people? whatever it was. no big deal...

china is no longer pegging its currency to the dollar. that could cause some changes in the trade-deficit and consumer goods pricing. not a huge deal though. that brings me to a very interesting point though:
while far from a secret, not that many people seem to know that s.e. asia and especially china hold a huge chunk of our public debt in the form of gov. bonds, etc. if they decided some day to cash it in and get euro securities instead we'd be royally fucked! i mean the usa would more broke-ass than a guy in a single-wide on cinder blocks in alabama. very unlikely that'll happen though.

but now to my NEW feature. i am starting a new daily feature that i'm calling........ Fuck You! that's right. just a picture and description. that's all. you can use it to meditate on during your daily "two minutes hate".

and now the first installment:

FUCK YOU!

israeli settler feeling sorry for himself!

i'm old!

no politics today. (i can hear the distant cheers.) yes, bush nominated john roberts, a pawn of the corporations and jesus freaks, to the supreme court; yes roe vs. wade will be overturned and we're all fucked, but whom did you expect him to nominate? howard zinn?

last night i watched taxi driver for the first time in long time. what a great movie. i'm so glad my wife rented it, since i probably wouldn't have. i like 'everybody loves raymond', so it's kind of hard not to see 'wizard' (peter boyle) as 'frank'.

and man, did it make me feel old to see de niro a lot younger than i am now, 'frank' as a middle aged guy and not a grandpa. jodie foster was a pre-teen kid and sybill shepherd was just beyond hot!

if you haven't seen it for a while i highly recommend you rent it and watch it again. the new collector's edition dvd also has some great extras.

here's great quote:
"Listen, you fuckers, you screwheads. Here is a man who would not take it anymore. A man who stood up against the scum, the cunts, the dogs, the filth, the shit. Here is a man who stood up."

ok, all this non-angry talk is making me woozy. tomorrow back to politics and anger. :)

25,000 civilians dead

on the bbc today, a report was released that since the US led invasion of iraq 25,000 civilians have met a violent end! that's civilians only and this is a very conservative report. (reached by corellating caualty reports from at least two major english-speaking news sources). overall the iraqi death toll is estimated at well over 100,000.

those iraqis must sure be glad we came to 'rescue' them and bring them all this 'liberty' and 'freedom'. let's see: more than two years after the invasion, the coutry is in rubble, just about all civil rights are suspended, curfews everywhere, infrastructure functionality, such as power and water is at a tiny fraction of what it was in saddam's days, but the oil of course is flowing and haliburton, bechtel, etc are making billions. so add the 25,000 civilians that would otherwise be alive now and i can understand why they're not exactly standing on the street-corners waving american flags.

sure saddam was a tyrannical asshole, enriching himself off the people, but so are bush, cheney, rove and rumsfeld and i don't see thailand or some other country coming over to bring us freedom and regime-change.

the only thing to do is to get our troups out NOW, immediately remove all american and british engineering firms, oil companies, construction companies and all the others that are raping the country and start paying massive reparations to let the arab communities re-build the country.

what about the argument that if we leave they'll have civil war? well what the fuck do you call what they have now? the country is fucked and you can't "un-fuck" it. that's the sad truth. there is no alternative scenario in which all of iraq ends up looking like the connecticut country-side. by staying we can only fuck it up more.

i hope people don't get the idea that i am anti-american. on the contrary, i really love this country. empire-building and enriching the few through mass-murdering are not values that the american people hold. unfortunately they are the values that our current government and corporatocracy hold.

60 years ago today, the first ever nuclear bomb was set off. not that much later we murdered an estimated 360,000 japanese in hiroshima and nagasaki.

some make the argument that the bombs also saved lives because they pretty much ended the war and the fighting. i'm sure there is some truth to that. but killing civilians by the hundreds of thousands can't be the answer. ever!

when i was a teenager in the 80s most people, at least in europe, were convinced that one day either the americans or the soviets woul 'loose it' and fire their missles, destroying the planet. thank 'god' that didn't happen.

of course now the danger is that america keeps pissing the rest of the world off until some country gets a hold of a few nukes and sends them over. maybe in the name of allah, or jesus, or moses, or ronald mc. donald.

it's amazing that the bush regime just asked congress for ungodly amounts of taxpayer cash to develop new nuclear weapons. maybe the ability to blow up the whole fucking planet 200 times over is not enough. i guess arms industry ceo's need to eat, too.

that does it for my daily dose of anger... :)

no-line meeting in superior

saw government in action yesterday. i was at the superior county board meeting considering whether to negotiate with atc about the transmission line.

you don't need to really know anything about the issue, but here is the super-condensed version: evil power-corporation wants to build huge power-transmission line (with humongous towers) all the way through wisconsin. cutting a path of destruction through pristing forest, streams, etc. private folks who don't want to sell their land get it taken away from them by 'imminent domain'. all counties sell out to the power company, EXCEPT for douglass county. they said no. the line needs to cross public land and they won't allow it.
so what do the fucking state legislators do?? the pass a law (the montgommery bill) that allows a private company to SEIZE public land. what the fuck????? the level of corruptness has gone off the scale to the down-right absurd. and the kicker is, they can do it EVEN if the municipality wants to sell it.

so we went with protest signs. a lot of other people were there. every single one who spoke was completely against this process and appalled. one guy from the chamber of commerce came up to say he supported the thing because that's what his lobbyists had told him. i spoke last and said something like "there are obviously two very distinct sides here. the people of douglass county, who are 100% against this deal and ATC and the corporations on the other side. last time i checked, you guys were elected to represent the people."

got huge applause, and i thought after every single speaker from the public (discarding the clown from the chamber of commerce) was completely opposed, their representatives would vote in the people's interest...

and then the cocksuckers voted 14 - 10 against the people. it was a sad moment indeed. although i did enjoy speaking there.

oh well, the battle isn't over yet. NEXT

if you want more info about the whole power line thing, chek out this site.

london bombed

i can understand how people get mad enough to want to bomb the western world, but i whole-heartedly condem it. obviously the people who plan these things either have no idea how the western world works or they have their own power-grabbing agendas.

after all, nobody profits more from an attack like this than tony blair, george bush, etc. more fear in the public; more blank checks to feed the people's money to their corporate buddies, more excuses to trample civil rights...

the people in england, the us, etc only hate the perpetraters more. as far as their own followers are concerned, i would think that they don't need more insprirations from bombings.

and what about the people who died in the bombings? maybe some of them were the most peace-loving and constructive activists. indiscriminate violence is always wrong.

so, to the bombers: "go fuck yourselves. whatever point you're trying to make, you're just hurting with this."

complicit

met some nice older folks last night. christians... oh well, i can forgive that for old folks. but then they started talking about their son in the air force and how much he enjoyed flying b1b bombers in iraq and afghanistan, and poor, poor him; now they made his unit fly different planes.

not 1 thought about the 100,000+ people we have murdered so far in iraq alone. not 1. just about the planes. and they were very amiable and nice folks. christians. go figure. guess by being a christian, you're used to swallowing BS all day long from childhood and trained not to ask questions. sometimes i forgett: "thou shalt not kill" of course only applies to unborn babies of welfare mothers, not black men on death-row and definitely not to muslims men, women and children our bombers and soldiers kill overseas. oh, those good christians...

complicit! that's what EVERYBODY is, who is not ACTIVLY trying to stop this madness. if you're not on the streets, writing letters, giving money, doing stuff then I got news for you: yes, there is a giant evil conspiracy. no, it's not just our government, they are just the executors of the conspiracy. the conspirators are.... (insert drumroll here) YOU! By not getting off your lazy or timid ass and making yourself heard, you are what's driving this imperialist system that poisons the environment, kills anyone who disagrees with them or their jesus, and enslaves the population of the earth, quite literally and/or mentally to enrich the few.

so please don't tell me how you are against the war and all, but you just don't have time to do something about it. i really don't give a fuck that you voted for kerry.

GUILTY! yes you. GUILTY!

do something or shut up and accept your place as 'their' bitch.
